Identifying and discussing the Current racial and socioeconomic Issues in the United States of America
Power, Privilege and the Purse
Project Overview
A three month project focused on identifying and speaking about different social and semi-political issues ranging from race and sexual identity to educational disparities and and everything in between. After months of research we wrote a position paper based one of the topics got in a group and organized a panel discussion with guest panelists connected to the topic we got assigned.

HumanitiesFor the Humanities section of this project we wrote an extensive position paper and organized the panel for the educational inequities panel as the moderator for the panel.
|
Math IIIIn Math, we looked at the tax system and how affordable higher education and life after college is. We then created an infographic to coincide with the humanities portion of the project.

Exhibition: Mind The Gap Symposium
The exhibition for this project was held at the Vista Community Clinic in Vista, California. In the two hour event we had multiple panels covering a variety of topics such as Islamaphobia in the United States, Educational Disparities (that was mine!), Gender Inequities and more, while having live play performances, stand up poetry, and interactive activities related to our topics all preformed and run by High Tech High North County's Class of 2017. For more information on the other events of the night please visit our website.
While there is no full recording of the panel as a whole, my panel ran smoothly with no mishaps as all of my panelists excelled in their roles and the guest panelist gave their insight to the topic at hand. The exhibitions media team did take many pictures at the event though and the below gallery is of the photos taken during the Educational Inequities panel.
